Meet Kayla & Avery – our very first booking at The Willow! We first met Kayla at Johnstown Bridal Showcase in January 2023. She was a quiet, timid girl among a mob of women rushing to The Willow’s booth as soon as the doors swung open. But, Kayla managed to be the very first to place a deposit and book her date within minutes of us meeting.
Kayla & Avery have the sweetest love story and we absolutely can not wait to celebrate with them in June 2024!
Kayla & Avery were a year apart in school, but never really socialized. Fast forward to 2021, they connected on social media. He sent a random message asking her on a date to the Raystown overlook and when they got there, the gate was closed. He was insistent that they make the walk back, which was never ending and freezing cold (it was the middle of December). She said when they finally made it, the views were worth the hike and the rest was history!
Avery knew Kayla was the one from day one because she has a good head on her shoulders, her priorities are in line, she knows exactly what she wants out of life and most of all, she makes him happy.
As for Kayla, she knew he was different and truly had a good heart after a just few days of hanging out. She says her little niece doesn’t accept just everyone, and she took to Avery right away. That sealed the deal for her!
They love spending time with their families, as they are a big part of their life. When weather permits, Kayla & Avery enjoy being outside, embarking on new adventures together and exploring new places they’ve never been before. Most importantly, our future Mr. & Mrs. prioritize making memories together.
The Proposal
Avery took Kayla back to the place of their first date, Raystown overlook. He asked his sister to come along and capture the moment. She thought they were just taking a picture together, and the next thing Kayla knew, Avery was down on one knee. He proposed on December 10, 2022, exactly a year after they first started talking.
The Wedding
The future Martyak’s envision their wedding as a day of happiness, surrounded by their closest friends and family celebrating their special day. Kayla & Avery want their day to be enjoyed by everyone. The most important thing for them is getting to marry their best friend and start a new chapter in life together. We love that! We feel that is exactly what your wedding day should be about!
Kayla has been watching The Willow since we first announced that a new venue was being built. They like the location and all of the amenities The Willow offers. Kayla says seeing all the images of what we hope the building will be, she knew it was going to be beautiful and the perfect match for them, their wedding and their guests. We are going to have the best time celebrating the future Martyak’s and welcome them to The Willow family!
