“Nick and I don’t believe in “The One.” Rather, our relationship is the result of a constant choice to build a life together.”
WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU MEET?
Nick and I knew of each other through sports and activities in middle school when he attended St. Benedict and I attended St. Andrew Catholic School. We officially met on our first day at Bishop McCort High School in 2012, and we were friends for two years before we started dating in our Junior Year.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FIRST DATE!
Nick picked me up and we went to Pizza Man’s in Westwood. After that, we drove to North Fork Country Club where we walked around the golf course, looked up at the stars, and shared our first kiss.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO TOGETHER?
Because we are in grad school in different states, we don’t get to spend as much time together as we would like. However, when we are together we like to catch-up on our watchlists, cook dinner, and go on walks with our corgi, Piper.
WHEN DID YOU KNOW HE/SHE WAS THE ONE?
Nick and I don’t believe in “The One.” Rather, our relationship is the result of a constant choice to build a life together. Our common religion, shared values, similar upbringing and goals for the future have guided us throughout our nearly 10 years together.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
Nick and I planned a trip to Rome for Easter 2023. While we were there, he arranged for a private tour of the Vatican Gardens with a “tour guide” recommended to him by a former college professor. As we walked around the beautiful grounds with the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica behind us, Nick got down on one knee and proposed. It turned out that the tour guide was actually a photographer who was there to capture the special moment!
WHEN YOU THINK OF YOUR WEDDING DAY, WHAT DO YOU ENVISION? WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR YOU?
We envision a beautiful summer day on which we get to finally take part in the Sacrament of Matrimony and celebrate the lifelong commitment with our family and friends!
WHY THE WILLOW?
We chose the Willow because we are excited about the concept of a modern industrial farmhouse amidst the rolling hills, which is a tribute to our roots as natives of Western Pennsylvania.
